Professionals, companies, technicians of the public administration of the ‘smart city’ are called in Malaga on the upcoming days of 25 and 26 April 2018 to the ninth edition of Greencities, the Intelligence and Urban Sustainability Forum. This was made known today at the meeting of its organising committee in Madrid, integrated by representatives of the principal public and private entities involved in the advancement of intelligent cities.
It should be noted, in view of the upcoming date, that this committee has been expanded with the incorporation of the Ministry of the Treasury and Public Function (MINHAFP), the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness (MINEICO), the National Federation of Energy Managers (FENAGE) and the National Association of Companies of Refurbishment and Reforms (ANERR). In this way the sectorial and institutional fabric is reinforced, which has positioned Greencities as the major meeting of the Spanish intelligent cities, also mentioned in the National Plan of Intelligent Cities prepared by the Secretariat of State for the Information Society and Digital Agenda (SESIAD) -under the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Digital Agenda- along with the National Standardisation Organisation (UNE).
As principal novelties for 2018, the organisation of Greencities has announced the holding, in the framework of the event, of two highly specialised forums, namely the ‘International Greencities Congress’, which will bring together all the scientific content of the event through the presentation and exhibition of communications, and a specific meeting on low energy consumption building.
This will be added to an offer of contents structured around the principal action areas that mark the current agenda of the intelligent cities, namely, government and citizen participation, mobility, environment, building and economy. In this way, during the two days, Greencities will advance the main trends and the contributions to the ‘smart’ model of these areas. To do so, the forum will carry out a comprehensive program of presentations, conferences and round table discussions, as well as an exhibition area that each year incorporates the most extensive and diverse catalogue of solutions to cover the specific needs of intelligent cities, with noteworthy protagonism of the information technologies and communication, and the processes of digital transformation. It will also include specific areas for networking and the generation of business opportunities and collaboration.
The Greencities Forum brought together in its eighth edition -held last June- 200 cities and 38 represented countries, with more than 3,400 visitors and 900 companies and entities present. The event is organised by the Trade Fairs and Congress Centre of Malaga (Fycma), under the City Hall of Malaga, and by the Secretariat of State for the Information Society and the Digital Agency (SESIAD), under the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda. Furthermore, it is co-organised by the Multisectorial Association of Companies of Electronics, Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Digital Contents (AMETIC).
